What's the best fence for a vegetable garden in Roxbury?

For a New England-area garden facing deer, rabbits, and woodchucks, we typically recommend a 7-to-8-ft black mesh fence with a tight rabbit-grade band at the bottom and a buried apron in woodchuck zones.

Will the fence handle Roxbury-area winters?

Yes — galvanized hardware throughout, posts set to local frost depth, mesh tensioned for snow loading. Designed for decades of New England winters.

Can you install around a fully planted garden?

Yes. We install around mature beds and irrigation regularly — light hand clearing, no root compaction.

How small can a garden fence be in Roxbury?

We've installed enclosures as small as a single raised-bed cluster (~200 sq ft). The design just scales down.

Garden Fence designed for Roxbury

Roxbury remains one of the quietest, most rural towns in Litchfield County. Estates here run large and deer are unrelenting — we build long perimeters that stay invisible from the road.

Planning your enclosure

Identify which animals are browsing or digging before choosing mesh and ground-line details. Leave practical access for tools, wheelbarrows and seasonal maintenance.
