Will a deer fence pass ARB review in Old Westbury?

In our experience, yes — we pass first-round review across Westchester, Bergen, and the Hudson Valley regularly. The low-visual-impact mesh is the reason.

How tall does the fence need to be?

7.5 to 8 feet. Going shorter to satisfy a perceived HOA preference is a self-defeating compromise — deer go right over it.

Will it ruin the view from my Old Westbury property?

No — that's the entire point of the system. Black polypropylene mesh visually disappears against trees and shrubs from 15 feet away.

Can I fence just part of the property?

Yes. Many Old Westbury-area clients fence the garden, orchard, or rear lawn rather than the full perimeter. We design to protect what actually needs protecting.

Deer Fence designed for Old Westbury

Old Westbury's estate parcels and horse farms need fencing that respects mature landscapes and reads as agrarian, not enclosure.

Planning your enclosure

Plan a continuous enclosure around the planting area. Height, gate closure and gaps at changes in terrain all matter; no fence is a guarantee against every animal.

Regional planning guidance for Long Island; the layout and conditions of your own property still need review.
