Northeast · Princeton
Princeton and the surrounding Mercer and Hunterdon countryside — Hopewell, Pennington, Lawrenceville, Lambertville — combine historic character with serious deer pressure and a strong equestrian and gardening culture. Our nearly invisible fence systems protect mature landscaping and pets while staying respectful of the area's architectural heritage.
Regional planning guidance; your property's conditions and installation eligibility need individual review.
Local wildlife
Central New Jersey deer densities are among the highest in the state, with year-round browsing that wipes out everything from tulip bulbs to mature shrub plantings. Coyote presence has grown across Hunterdon and western Mercer as well.
Lots & terrain
Lots range from in-town Princeton parcels to ten-acre horse properties in Hopewell and Hunterdon. We work comfortably across that full range, including around paddocks and pasture lines.
Sized for Princeton deer pressure
We size our deer fences to the actual local deer behavior — herd size, jump pressure, and seasonal browsing patterns specific to the Princeton region.
Nearly invisible from the road
Black polypropylene mesh disappears against a wooded backdrop — protects your gardens without turning your yard into a compound.
Protects 6-figure landscape investments
Mature ornamentals, vegetable gardens, fruit trees — one season of deer browsing can erase years of work in Princeton yards.
Built for regional climate
Galvanized hardware and freeze-thaw-rated tensioners hold up through decades of Princeton-area weather.
Plan the enclosure
Lots range from in-town Princeton parcels to ten-acre horse properties in Hopewell and Hunterdon. We work comfortably across that full range, including around paddocks and pasture lines.
Plan a continuous enclosure around the planting area. Height, gate closure and gaps at changes in terrain all matter; no fence is a guarantee against every animal.

What to expect on the logistics side of a Princeton-area install.
Fence height, setbacks and approval requirements vary by municipality and property. Check with your local authority and HOA before installation. Obtaining permits and submitting HOA paperwork are the homeowner's responsibility; specification sheets and renderings are available on request for your application.
Weather, ground conditions, access and required approvals can affect scheduling. Your written proposal confirms the installation timing for your property.
The four most common reasons Princeton-area homeowners end up replacing a fence twice.
Installing without ARB approval
Across Westchester and Bergen, fences installed without ARB review get forced removals at the homeowner's cost. We won't break ground until you confirm any required HOA or ARB approval is in hand.
Buying chain-link or welded wire
Both work mechanically and both look industrial. The reason black polypropylene dominates the high-end NY/NJ market is that it visually disappears.
Going short to satisfy an HOA
A 6-foot deer fence is a 6-foot landscaping accent — deer go right over it. Don't compromise on height; use the spec sheet we provide to make the case for 7.5–8 ft to your ARB.
Cheap mesh, no UV rating
Sun-degraded mesh embrittles within 3-4 NY-metro summers. The product we install is rated for full UV and decades of service.
