Most of our residential projects go from first call to finished install in under 30 days. That's faster than most fence companies — not because we cut corners, but because we run a single crew per project and stage materials proactively. Here's exactly what happens on each side — ours and yours — so there are no surprises.
This breakdown reflects our standard residential timeline. Larger estate projects (5,000+ linear feet) and HOA-controlled communities sometimes run 45–60 days. We'll always tell you upfront if your project doesn't fit the 30-day window — usually before you sign anything.
Day 0–2: Free virtual consultation
You book a 30-minute video call. We walk your property remotely using satellite imagery and ask about dogs, deer pressure, gates, slope, and aesthetic preferences. Within 24 hours of the call you get an itemized written quote — not a per-foot estimate, an actual line-item proposal you can compare to other bids.
- What we ask: dogs (breed, drive, escape history), deer/coyote pressure, gate access needs, slope, HOA status, aesthetic priorities.
- What we send: line-item quote, mesh and post specs, warranty terms, and 2–3 photos of comparable installs.
- What you do next: review at your pace; ask questions; compare to other quotes if you have them.
Day 3–10: Approval, scheduling, materials

- You approve the quote and scope; sign a simple installation agreement.
- Deposit collected (typically 25–35%); we confirm install date and any HOA / permit needs.
- Materials are ordered and staged — most arrive within 5–7 business days.
- If your project needs site marking for buried utility lines (call-before-you-dig), we schedule that now — it's free but takes 3–5 business days.
- We send a pre-install checklist: gate locations, where to park equipment, pet logistics.
Day 10–14: Pre-install prep
This is the quietest stretch on your end. We're confirming materials, finalizing the crew schedule, and reviewing your site plan against satellite imagery one more time. You'll get a confirmation call 48 hours before install with the crew lead's name and arrival window.
Day 14–25: Install (on-site)
Most residential installs take 2–5 days on-site. You don't need to be home — just accessible by phone if a decision comes up.
| Day | Typical work | What you'll notice |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Layout, post hole drilling, terminal posts set in concrete | Augering noise; some yard disruption |
| 2 | Concrete cure; line posts set; corners braced | Quieter day; posts visible |
| 3 | Mesh hung and tensioned along main runs | Fence starts looking like a fence |
| 4 | Gates installed and squared; hardware finished | Functional perimeter |
| 5 | Punch list, cleanup, debris haul-off, final tensioning | Property restored; nothing left behind |
Day 25–30: Walkthrough and warranty
We walk the finished fence with you, demonstrate gate operation, confirm everything is to spec, and hand off the warranty paperwork. Most homeowners are surprised how invisible it is from the road. You sign off, we collect final payment, and the warranty clock starts.
- 10-year materials warranty on mesh and posts.
- 3-year labor warranty on workmanship.
- Lifetime hardware warranty on gate hinges and latches.
- 30-day callback for any minor adjustments at no charge.
What slows things down
- HOA approval that takes 45+ days (we'll start the application immediately to overlap).
- Permits in municipalities that require them (most don't for under-6-ft residential).
- Custom mesh or oversized gates with longer manufacturer lead times.
- Severe weather windows — we won't set posts in frozen or saturated ground.
- Pre-install site clearing if it wasn't included in the original scope.
What you should do before install day
- Walk the fence line and remove anything you don't want disturbed (sprinkler heads, decorative stones, garden art).
- Mark any underground irrigation lines or invisible-fence wires we wouldn't catch from utility marking.
- Confirm pet logistics — most dogs are easier inside during post-setting day.
- Move vehicles out of the staging area we identified in the pre-install call.
- Tell neighbors — a quick heads-up prevents most weekend-of complaints.
After install: the first season
Your fence will perform reliably from day one. The only first-season tasks are: walk it after the first big storm, confirm gates still latch cleanly after a freeze/thaw cycle, and call us if anything looks off. Re-tensioning is included free of charge in the first 12 months.
